  The original Mud River Bridge was built in 1834 and torn down in 1955. This Mud River Bridge was built at a different location in 1876 using the Howe Truss System. In 1876 when the city of Milton was incorporated, the boundary listing began "at the south side of the Milton Bridge across the Mud River".
